NFL Hall-of-Famer and podcaster Shannon Sharpe is facing a lawsuit filed by a woman, referred to as Jane Doe, who accuses him of sexually assaulting her twice over a two-month period last year. The lawsuit, filed in Nevada state court, claims that Sharpe violently sexually assaulted and anally raped the plaintiff on two separate occasions at her Las Vegas home. The woman seeks at least $50 million in damages, alleging that Sharpe ignored her requests for him to stop during both incidents, with one occurring in January.

He further stated that he would not submit to what he believes is a wrongful accusation. To support his defense, Sharpe referenced text messages that he claims show the relationship between him and the accuser was consensual.

According to the complaint, Sharpe and the woman met in 2023 at a Los Angeles gym and soon developed a relationship that initially involved consensual sex. However, the lawsuit alleges that the relationship later turned violent. After both the woman and Sharpe relocated to Las Vegas, the woman claims that Sharpe confronted her and demanded to be taken to her house. Once there, she accuses him of forcing her to engage in oral sex before assaulting her.

Second Alleged Assault and Additional Legal Challenges Facing Shannon Sharpe Amid Lawsuits

The lawsuit also outlines a second alleged assault that took place in January. The woman claims that Sharpe forcibly grabbed her, pulled her around, and positioned her to perform oral sex, which lasted about two minutes. The complaint further describes Sharpe repositioning her and then allegedly forcing himself inside her against her will. The woman is seeking damages for sexual battery, as well as emotional distress caused by the alleged verbal abuse during the incidents.

This lawsuit is not the first time Sharpe has faced legal challenges. He is also being sued in New York by a former girlfriend who accuses him of forcing her to perform oral sex. Sharpe, who recently signed a multi-year deal with ESPN to expand his role on the network’s “First Take” show, could face significant professional and personal repercussions from these ongoing legal issues.
