Guns N’ Roses is officially parting ways with Frank Ferrer, the band’s longest-serving drummer.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, with the band expressing gratitude for Ferrer’s contributions over the past 19 years.
“Thank you, Frank, for your friendship, creativity, and sturdy presence over the past 19 years,” the band stated, also wishing him “success in the next chapter of his musical journey.”
Ferrer first joined Guns N’ Roses in June 2006, providing a steady foundation for the band’s rhythm section throughout multiple tours, including recent performances featuring the reunited core trio of Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan. According to a press release, his final show with the band took place on November 5, 2023, in Mexico.
On Wednesday, Guns N’ Roses also posted a tribute on their official Instagram account. “Thank you, Frank. For the friendship, creativity and sturdy presence over the last 19 years,” read the caption, accompanied by a photo of the band standing before a massive crowd.

The following day, the band announced that Isaac Carpenter would be stepping in as their new drummer. He will join Guns N’ Roses for their 2025 European, Asian, and Middle East Tour, where they will headline stadiums and festivals throughout the summer.
Carpenter is a well-regarded American drummer and songwriter known for his dynamic work across alternative and hard rock genres.
He has played with Duff McKagan’s Loaded, Awolnation, Adam Lambert, Barbarians of California, A Perfect Circle, The Exies, Ours, and Black Lab. His experience also extends to extensive session work in film and television.
The press release further described Carpenter’s drumming style, stating that he has earned a reputation for “uniquely blending versatility and groove with crushing force and technical skill, cementing his reputation as a multifaceted drummer in the industry.”
As Guns N’ Roses prepares for their upcoming tour, the addition of Carpenter marks a new chapter in the band’s legendary career.
