It’s always special when two legends come together.
After announcing their upcoming EP and debuting the single last month, Roc Marciano and DJ Premier have now released the official video for “Armani Section.”
Directed by POE, the visual features Roc and Preemo hanging out and shopping in Los Angeles, accompanied by a few luxury vehicles as they soak in the vibe. DJ Premier shared some insight into how the video came together, revealing the fast-paced nature of the shoot.
“My director POE and I flew to L.A. and literally shot the video from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and flew right back to N.Y.,” he explained. “Shout to The Alchemist for letting me borrow his Maybach Wagon and studio to film and, of course, Roc Marci owns a Maybach, which is also in the video.”
Adding, simply, “Authentic fly sh—t.”
A few years back, the two artists ran into each other in the Giorgio Armani section at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City, where they discussed the idea of collaborating. That conversation eventually became a reality last year, leading to the creation of their first song, which they named after their chance encounter.
As of now, there’s still no official title or release date for the EP, but fans can expect it to drop sometime this year.
Meanwhile, as Preemo works on his joint project with Marci, he’s also been focusing on his label, TTT (To the Top), and his artist Brady Watt, who recently dropped a single titled “Shake.”
The legendary DJ and record producer launched TTT a few years ago as a way to retain creative control, allowing him to make and release music on his own terms.
