The Head and the Heart have announced that their sixth studio album, Aperture, will be released on May 9. Alongside the announcement, the band has also shared a new single, “After the Setting Sun.”
Aperture serves as the follow-up to their 2022 album, Every Shade of Blue. The band explained that the album’s title is inspired by “the function on a camera lens that determines the amount of light that enters.”
“For us, Aperture is more than just the title of our new album—it’s a reflection of the journey we’ve been on as a band and as people,” the group shared.
“It represents the choice we all face: to close ourselves off to the darkness or to open up and let the light in. It’s about hope, resilience, and seeing the world—and ourselves—more clearly.”
In addition to the album, The Head and the Heart have announced a 50-date Aperture Tour.
The tour kicks off on May 31 in Detroit and includes stops at notable venues such as Central Park SummerStage in New York City and The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. The final show of the tour is scheduled for October 10 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
