Mick Fleetwood and Lindsey Buckingham have reunited in the studio for the first time since Buckingham’s departure from Fleetwood Mac nearly a decade ago.
Swedish producer Carl Falk recently shared photos of the two collaborating on Fleetwood’s upcoming solo album, which will also feature The War on Drugs.
A Surprising Collaboration
“Slightly unreal moment to sit with Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood to play Lindsey the album we have been working on,” Falk wrote on Threads late last month.
“And to see his genuine happiness for Mick to finally do his own album and offering to play guitar and to sing on it. Can’t wait to finish this one.”
Falk followed up with another post on March 16, sharing a photo and captioning it, “Mick and Lindsey together again, what a flawless guitar player.”
Despite this unexpected collaboration, a full Fleetwood Mac reunion remains unlikely.

No Fleetwood Mac Reunion in Sight
Following the 2022 passing of Christine McVie, both Fleetwood and Stevie Nicks have stated that Fleetwood Mac is effectively over.
Nicks, in particular, has been adamant that the classic lineup will not reunite. She revealed that during McVie’s memorial, she could only tolerate “three minutes” of conversation with Buckingham.
“You could not say that I did not give him more than 300 million chances,” she told Rolling Stone.
Fleetwood has long hoped for a reconciliation between Nicks and Buckingham, who famously dated before breaking up during the recording of 1977’s Rumours. The two originally met while attending Menlo-Atherton High School and began dating in 1972.
Buckingham was officially dismissed from Fleetwood Mac in 2018.
“I always have a fantasy that (Stevie) and Lindsey would pal up a bit more and just say everything’s okay for them both,” Fleetwood told last month.
However, Nicks has firmly shut down any possibility of reviving the band.
“Without Christine, no can do,” she told in June 2023. “There is no chance of putting Fleetwood Mac back together in any way.”
