A new conflict appears to be unfolding between Kanye West and his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.
The rap producer recently released a song by Sean “Diddy” Combs, whom he has publicly supported amid the Bad Boy Records founder’s ongoing sex trafficking case.
The track, titled “Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine,” was shared on X on March 15, only to be deleted the following day. Notably, the song features North West, 11, the eldest daughter of Ye and the Kardashians star.
Kanye has claimed that Kim attempted to block the song’s release. In a now-deleted post on X, he allegedly shared a text exchange with Kim, who reportedly stated that she “sent paper work over so she wouldn’t be in the Diddy song to protect her” and referenced trademarking North’s name at birth.
“I asked u at the time if I can trademark her name,” another message, allegedly from the SKIMS founder, reads. “You said yes. When she’s 18 it goes to her. So stop.”
Kanye’s alleged response to Kim, whose family frequently trademarks their own names as well as their children’s, was reportedly a direct warning: “Amend it or I’m going to war. And neither of us will recover from the public fallout. You’re going to have to kill me.”

Shortly after dropping the track, which Kanye stated also features Combs’ son, Christian “King” Combs, 26, and musician Jasmine Williams, he went on to demand greater involvement in raising his and Kim’s four children: North, Saint West, 9, Chicago West, 7, and Psalm West, 5.
“I don’t want to just ‘see’ my kids,” Kanye, whose divorce from Kim was finalized in 2022 after eight years of marriage, wrote on X. “I need to raise them.”
Kanye, who has been actively involved in helping North produce her debut album, has previously turned to social media to voice frustrations about co-parenting and arrangements regarding their children.
In recent months, however, he has sparked controversy for using social media to praise Adolf Hitler and post images of swastikas and other anti-Semitic content.
In February, Kanye publicly showed his support for Combs, who is awaiting a May trial on charges including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy—charges to which he has pleaded not guilty.
“FREE PUFF,” Kanye wrote on Feb. 6, referencing one of Combs’ former stage names, before following up with another message: “PUFF WE LOVE YOU.”
