Greg ‘The Hitman’ Williams Among Hundred Fired At Audacy Radio Station

Greg “The Hitman” Williams will no longer be a familiar voice on your morning commute. In a Facebook post on Friday, the longtime radio DJ announced that he was among the many employees affected by a “massive” round of layoffs at Audacy, the second-largest radio station group in the country, behind iHeartMedia.

“…it is with a sad heart that I am making this post,” Williams wrote. “I am no longer with Power 93.5 and KEYN. I was part of my company (Audacy) massive layoffs yesterday.”

Despite the unexpected news, Williams expressed deep gratitude for his audience and supporters. He had been with the company—formerly known as Entercom—and Power 93.5 for 25 years.

“This is not the end. It is the start of new beginnings,” Williams continued. “I am blessed and highly favored, and as a child of God, with a loving wife, and an amazing family, nothing on earth matters more than that.”

His post also featured a montage highlighting moments from his career in Wichita radio.

Audacy, which transitioned into a privately owned company last year after emerging from bankruptcy, laid off 200 employees this week. The company stated that the workforce reductions were necessary to ensure “a strong and resilient future for the business.”
