The Dan Bernstein era at Audacy’s 670 The Score has officially come to an end, as the long-standing Chicago radio host has been let go by the station.
The announcement was made during Friday’s midday show, with Mitch Rosen, vice president and brand manager of The Score, delivering the update.
“We want to share some important news with our Score listeners, partners, and teammates,” Rosen stated on-air, according to Barrett Media. “We are announcing today that Dan Bernstein no longer works at The Score.
“We wish him nothing but the best, and thank him for his time and service. Thank you.”
Social Media Controversy Led to Bernstein’s Exit
Bernstein’s dismissal comes just days after he engaged in a heated social media exchange, where he allegedly threatened to dox another user on X (formerly Twitter).
The dispute began when the user accused Bernstein of killing a fish he had caught and shared a photo of last week. Bernstein responded aggressively, challenging the user to a fight and claiming to have their personal information.

“Where you at? I have your address and phone numbers. Want it all public? Do I worry you yet?” Bernstein posted before escalating the situation further by mentioning the user’s children.
Following the controversy, co-host Marshall Harris opened the show by announcing that Bernstein would be off the air for the week.
A Career in Chicago Sports Media Ends Abruptly
Bernstein had been with The Score since 1995, becoming a well-known figure in Chicago sports media over his nearly three-decade tenure. However, this latest incident wasn’t his first public controversy.
Back in September, Bernstein clashed with Dave Portnoy after taking issue with Barstool Eddie referring to him by his last name.
“You can call me Dan or you can call me Bernsy, but you don’t know me like that,” Bernstein snapped at Eddie.
Additionally, earlier this week, Bernstein was removed from the board of directors of Camp One Step, a Chicago-based organization dedicated to supporting children with cancer.
