After weeks of teasing her upcoming single with a unique billboard marketing campaign across the country, Chappell Roan has officially announced that “The Giver” will drop on March 13 at 8 p.m. ET.
The singer shared the news on social media, revealing that she co-wrote the song with producer and longtime collaborator Dan Nigro. “We’ve never done a country song and I have such a special place in my heart for country music,” she wrote.
“I grew up listening to it every morning and afternoon on my school bus and had it swirling around me at bonfires, grocery stores and karaoke bars.
Many people have asked if this means I’m making a country album??? My answer is.. hmm right now I’m just making songs that make me feel happy and fun and The Giver is my take on cuntry xoxo may the classic country divas lead their genre, I am just here to twirl and do a little gay yodel for yall.”

Since then, she has continued to build anticipation, using billboard ads featuring a hotline number that played snippets of the song over the past several weeks.
This single marks Roan’s first new release since “Good Luck, Babe!” dropped in April 2024.
That song arrived in the wake of her 2023 debut album, “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess,” which produced several hit tracks throughout the following year. “Good Luck, Babe!”
earned multiple Grammy nominations, and Roan ultimately won the prestigious Best New Artist award.
