Freida McFadden’s thriller novel, The Housemaid, is set to hit the big screen with an impressive cast.
Originally announced in July 2022, the novel adaptation gained momentum when Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried joined as both stars and producers in October 2024. Paul Feig, known for his work on A Simple Favor, was also confirmed as the film’s director.

Production for the film began in January 2025, with filming taking place in several New Jersey towns.
