Lady Gaga gave fans a thrilling sneak peek at her upcoming album, Mayhem, during the 2025 Grammy Awards.
The pop icon, 38, premiered “Abracadabra,” the third single from her highly anticipated seventh studio album, along with its music video during a commercial break on Sunday, February 2.
“The category is dance or die,” Gaga declares at the start of the video, which is packed with high-energy choreography and bold, avant-garde fashion reminiscent of her early career.
Fans have already embraced the new track, celebrating its return to the upbeat, electrifying dance sound that first made Gaga a global superstar—reminiscent of hits like Poker Face and Bad Romance.

2025 Grammys Red Carpet Arrivals
Gaga is in the running for two Grammy Awards this year, with her collaboration with Bruno Mars, Die With a Smile, earning nominations for Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. While the duet was initially released as a standalone single in August 2024, it was later included on Mayhem.
Earlier in the evening, Gaga and Mars teamed up for a moving tribute, performing California Dreamin’ to honor those affected by the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.
In November 2024, both artists reacted to their Grammy nominations with excitement.
“I’m so grateful for these 2 GRAMMY NOMINATIONS!” Gaga wrote on Instagram at the time. “Because of our amazing fans, we are so blessed to be nominated for Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo Recording for Die With a Smile!! @recordingacademy We love y’all Monsters and Hooligans did that!.”
Mars responded in the comments, writing, “(Monsters – Hooligans) Thank you! We love you!”

Lady Gaga Debuts New Song and Music Video During the 2025 Grammys
Days ahead of the Grammys, on Monday, January 27, Gaga officially announced that Mayhem will drop on March 7. The 14-track album will feature Die With a Smile as well as Disease, her single released in October 2024.
Gaga opened up about the album’s concept in a press release, explaining that Mayhem originated from her confronting her own hesitation about returning to the pop sound her earliest fans adored.
She described the project as “a shattered mirror: even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly, you can still create something beautiful and whole in its own new way.”
According to the press release, Mayhem explores themes of “chaos and transformation, celebrating music’s ability to unite, provoke, and heal.”
