Jessica Simpson, 44, hinted at new music in the works, sharing photos from a recording session just days after her split from Eric Johnson on Saturday, February 1.
The entrepreneur and singer posted images of herself sitting on a couch, singing into a microphone in a dimly lit studio surrounded by glowing candles.
The photos, which were shared both in an Instagram post and her Instagram Stories, were notably left without a caption, leaving fans speculating about what’s to come.
All the Clues Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson Were Drifting Apart
This latest post is just one of several hints Simpson has dropped about a potential new album. Back on December 16, 2024, she shared a photo of herself reclining in a chair surrounded by recording equipment.
“I can’t wait for y’all to hear the soundtrack of my soul,” she wrote in the caption. The previous month, she had also taken to Instagram to express that she was in the midst of a “comeback.”

“Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic,” Simpson posted on November 11, 2024. “This comeback is personal, it’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve.”
Whether her new music will touch on the details of her recent separation from Johnson, 45, remains unclear. However, Simpson previously confirmed in January that the two had begun living apart, fueling speculation about their relationship status.

“Eric and I have been living separately, navigating a painful situation in our marriage,” Simpson told Us Weekly in a statement on January 13.
“Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and we appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family,” she added.
Why Eric Johnson Is No Longer What Jessica Simpson Needs
The couple, who tied the knot in 2014, share three children: Maxwell, 12, Ace, 11, and Birdie, 5.
“For Jessica, he is not what she needs,” a source exclusively told on January 16. “It’s just not working and hasn’t for a while.”
