Lainey Wilson and Devlin “Duck” Hodges are officially engaged!
The 32-year-old country star shared the exciting news on Instagram on Wednesday, February 12, posting a collection of photos capturing Hodges’ proposal and a close-up of her stunning engagement ring. “4x4xU forever,” she captioned the post, accompanied by a red heart emoji.
Wilson appeared genuinely surprised when Hodges, 28, got down on one knee on the porch of an elegant home. The romantic setting included photo albums, candles, and long-stemmed red roses, creating a heartfelt tribute to their love story.
Overcome with emotion, Wilson covered her face in shock as the moment was captured on camera, while Hodges beamed with joy. The couple then shared a sweet kiss for the photographer, and Wilson proudly displayed her ring, which features a delicate flower-like design.
Hodges, a former NFL quarterback who has since transitioned into real estate, and Wilson began their relationship in 2021. They made their first official public appearance as a couple at the Academy of Country Music Awards in May 2023.
Reflecting on their relationship in June 2023, Wilson had nothing but praise for her fiancé. “I’ll tell you, he is good as gold,” she said.
“He supports me completely and would never stand in the way of my dreams. He’s always like, ‘Go get it, girl.’ And I made him wait a bit. It’s been a little over two years now.”

Wilson also noted that Hodges has developed close friendships with her circle. “It’s amazing. He’s great friends with all my friends,” she shared at the time. “He’ll FaceTime me, and he’ll be hanging out with Hardy, Cole Swindell, and the rest of the gang. I’m like, ‘Can you stop stealing my friends?’”
In November, Hodges accompanied Wilson and her family to the Country Music Association Awards in Nashville. That night, Wilson won five awards, including the prestigious Entertainer of the Year. Proud of her accomplishments, Hodges took to Instagram to celebrate her success.
“She’s already heard what I’m about to say, but I want everyone else to hear it too. This girl is the hardest-working person I know,” Hodges wrote alongside photos from the event.
“Her dedication and drive to be the best version of herself are truly inspiring. I’m so proud that all her hard work continues to pay off. Congratulations on all the awards last night, especially the BIGGEST ONE—ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR!”
In October 2024, Wilson dedicated her song “4x4xU” to her biggest supporter, sharing an Instagram Reel of herself and Hodges enjoying a car ride while the song played in the background. “Ain’t nowhere I’d rather be #4x4xu @devlinhodges,” she wrote, expressing her deep affection for him.
