Katy Perry on Her Experience Attending The Taylor Swift Era Tour in Sydney

Katy Perry is still thrilled after seeing her friend Taylor Swift perform on tour! In a recent interview, the 40-year-old singer shared how excited she was to attend Swift’s Eras Tour in Sydney last year, especially after reconciling their long-standing friendship.

“I actually went and did a show in Australia very quickly and I had one day off before the show, and I was like, ‘Hey girl, I’m gonna come to the show,’” Perry explained to U.K. radio station Capital in a video posted on TikTok.

“And [Swift] was so excited, and I was so excited,” Perry added, holding up a photo of the two of them embracing at the concert in February 2024.

Perry described Swift’s fans as “an adorable sweet community” and reminisced about swapping bracelets with Swift’s fans, known as Swifties, during the concert.

“People gave me bracelets and I think Rita [Ora] gave me a bracelet,” Perry said, referring to the British singer who also attended the concert. “I loved it. It’s just like a community, it’s an adorable sweet community.”

Perry also shared her affection for Swift, saying, “I got to see her and we got to catch up, and I love her so much.”

Perry’s visit to Swift’s Eras Tour follows the pair’s reconciliation after a public feud. The two singers famously appeared together in Swift’s 2019 music video for “You Need to Calm Down,” wearing matching hamburger and French fry costumes.

After attending Swift’s concert in February 2024, Perry shared a series of photos and videos from the show on Instagram, including a smiling selfie with Swift backstage. “Got to see an old friend shine tonight,” Perry captioned the post.

Perry also shared videos of Swift performing her hits “You Belong with Me” and “Bad Blood,” turning the camera around to show herself singing along to the lyrics.

In July 2020, Perry reflected on their friendship and revealed that they were now “super friendly,” having put their past issues behind them.

“What I’m so grateful for is we did get to make up publicly and got to be an example of redemption for young girls,” Perry shared in an interview on The Howard Stern Show. “I always wanted the best for her, and now we can talk about the best we want for each other.”
